How Do I Measure A Room?

Step one, measure the length of all your walls.

Using a measuring tape, simply measure the length of the 4 walls that make your room. Be sure to take notes of the measurements in inches.

Step two, measure the height of all your walls.

Now using the measuring tape, measure the height of the room and convert to feet. be sure to round up to the nearest foot and be sure to take notes of this measurement as well.

For example: 120"/12=10'

Step three, add up your notes

Now, add up measure 4 length measurements in your notes. Then divide that added number by 12. be sure to round up to the nearest

For example: 120"+120"+120"+120"=480"

480"/12=40'

Step four, lets start getting answers!

Now Multiple the total length in feet note with the height in feet. This is the square footage for all 4 walls combined in your room. Keep this number for the next step if you plan to paint ceilings as well.

For example: 40'X10'=400'
